s1 visa and SW visa???

Glad to say that my visa has been approved for FDU,Vancouver.My visa has S-1 type on it.Another friend has SW visa for coop coll. What is the differnce between S1 and SW visa?Can i work after going there??plz give inf on this...

S1 is for study and sw is for study and work. SW is usually issued to students with co-op term. You can apply for work permit (part time off campus) after 6 months of your study.
