Running United States Based Internet Business While Studying in Canada

I have a question for anyone who can help me out. I am planning on attending McGill next year and I currently own my own start-up Internet Business in California. Am I allowed to continue my working for my business based in California (remotely of course) while studying?

Yes, as long as you don't have any canadian customers.

my understanding is that students are allowed to be self employed as long as they dont earn wages; so I could trade the Toronto Stock Exchange or run an internet business or run an ebay business? PMM is that right?

No, students can't be self-employed and earn money from Canadian sources. Trading stocks, no problem, ebay maybe, depends on who and what you are selling, internet business, can't have Canadian customers.
