Rules for minor passport

Hi All,

I applied for mine and child's citizenship this week. While waiting for a update on application we wanted to go on a vacation to my home country and drop our child there for some time.Childs age iis 7 yrs My questions are

1. when cic asks for childs original PR card can i bring along with me and post it.
2. When we get citizenship certificate of child,can i apply for passport with out her presence.Do we need pictures taken for passport. Can we take them outside canada and submit application in canada.
3. Are there any problems faced with this kind of process.

First a humoros remark. "Drop our child there" sounds like you leave them out in the forest or something

Now about the actual questions:

1. I don't know about this, someone else would have to chime in.
2. You would have to fill out the passport application for your child anyways. So he/she doesn't need to be present while you fill out and sign those forms. You need pictures for the passport. Generally, you can take these pictures outside Canada however there is a higher risk that they do not fulfill the requirements of Canadian passport photos. If you take the pictures outside Canada, make sure (and check it yourself) that they fulfill all the requirements, including the exact size of the photo.
Note that both parents must sign the passport application.
3. Hard to answer that one.

Thanks for update. no way dropping them in forest or something she's going to be there with grand parents but not sure how much time she will be there. I like to know if the procedure from sending pr card to OCI stamp on her passport can be done without her presence
