Interview........
waived
Hi everyone,

Ok I need some advice as I've gotten some conflicting information about the RPRF...My partner and I have not paid the RPRF yet (I know I know, we should have paid it at the beginning of this whole thing!). Our PR application has so far progressed very quickly, I'm approved as a sponsor, and my partner received a letter of provisional acceptance and that his interview was waived. We submitted the final police clearance they requested about a month ago.

It seems that now we are waiting for a letter to pay the RPRF. My partner has asked the our visa office (Pretoria) if we can pay the fee now, they have said we have to wait until they request it. I also called the cic call centre today and they ALSO said I should wait until I receive the request. But the website says we can pay anytime - won't it speed up the whole process if I just pay the thing online and send the receipt to Mississauga? Has anyone done this or had any experience with this. Where does the letter come from? Pretoria or Canada (Missisauga)? Do I need to wait for the official request letter - is there any form or anything that I might miss if I pay now online? If I do pay online what do I need to send where?

Any info would help, it's getting a little frustrating as we've been apart for a while now and I'm now officially obsessed with checking ecas and my mailbox.

Thanks

Hi there,

I too just realized we hadn't paid the RPRF. In digging through the cic.gc.ca site - I read that having it not paid in advance can slow down the process (I think it means they could assign another bring forward date waiting for you to pay it).

Now, I'm not super helpful as I have a lawyer. The lawyer submitted the funds (today actually) and sent me an email copy of the receipt (it was an online submission).

So I would suggest - push the issue and demand to get it paid. How? I don't have a clue. I will ask my lawyers admin tomorrow though and let you know what she says.

good luck

Hi there, Here is my lawyer's response:

"You can pay it anytime you wish. But the payment goes to the Mississuaga office. There is an online option with a credit card on www.cic.gc.ca or you can order a payment slip that is payable at the bank. It takes about ten days to get. "
Cheers J

I looked online and it's on the home page - in the right hand navigation box "I need to ...." > Pay my fees. You can pay with a credit card. Or you can print out the form and submit through a major bank. All the instructions are there

Hope this helps! homesoon

LANDED..........
26=01=2010
I contacted CIC about paying the RPLF as my landing was "imminant" and I had been told to expect the letter of confirmation within days. They advised me not to pay it online but to pay it at my local office (in my case inland, but I am assuming that it is the same outland). The reason they gave was that once the payment was cleared through Mississauga / Vegreville and assigned to your file, they would have to then contact the local office to notify them and that this could delay things. They told me it was far quicker to pay it at the local office and that there would therefore be no confusion as to whether it had been paid or not.

As your local office and CIC call centre have already told you to wait until they request the payment I would strongly suggest you abide by their statement - if you try to circumnavigate their instructions it "could" also delay things.

:)

It is ideal to pay it when your lodge your application, otherwise you have to wait for their instruction as they will let you know of the payment instruction and their it part of the mail that you to send back with your receipt.

You can pay at any time online. Then take a copy of your receipt - reference the file number, and mail it into your local embassy/consolate.
