Hi I would need help with the following matter:

I am in Quebec on a 1 yr closed work permit. So my work permit lists my employer's name and was issued based on a job offer they made.
I know I cannot work for any other employer, but are sporadic royalties considered as "employer"?
More specifically I would do a training DVD for a US training company and I would earn royalties on the dvds that will be sold.
So my question is: would this be legal?

Thank you in advance for any guidance on this matter!

Yes, it would be legal as the funds would be earned outside Canada.

So as long as the company is outside Canada, it's ok? Good. Would it be the same for freelance, if it's for foreign companies?
Does the compansation has to be deposited in a bank account outside Canada or doesn't matter?
And in terms of taxes these earnings would have to be included in my tax return in Canada, correct?

Thanks for your help!
