Hi everyone.

I am a Canadian and sponsoring my husband who is an Albanian citizen. He was in Canada but was sent back. We sent our application is March 3rd 2014, it was received March 26th, I was approved for sponsorship on May.09.2014. As well Step 2 was forwarded to the Rome office. I have 2 questions. 1. What are the current processing times going through the Rome office. Does anyone have a time frame. As well I have gone back and fourth quite often to be with my husband and family in Albania and am going to be leaving in a few weeks again to go for the summer. I was wondering if I should write a letter and send it to Rome letting them know I will be with my husband for a-b months and if an interview is required then I will be available for it. Even though I don't think we will have an interview but you never know, right? But mainly I am just wondering if anyone would know what the current processing times are for Rome at the moment. I want to go to Albania and come home with my husband. One more time getting off the plane alone i think would kill me.

If anyone has any advice or knows. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks kindly :)

Bella

Axxis91 has a spreadsheet in his signature that gives you an idea of how quickly Rome has been processing applications.
I think you need to give Rome at least 5 months with the application, so I would guess that a decision wouldn't be made until at least the beginning of October. But who knows, maybe Rome will surprise you.

You do not have to attend the interview. If one is needed, only your husband would have to go. Most people advise to keep gathering more evidence - plane tickets from this upcoming visit, photos of you together during this visit etc. and bring this proof to an interview if it is required. Some people send extra info without being asked, but others (I think the majority) advise against sending more information unless you are asked for it, unless it is one of the things CIC asks you to inform them about (just a visit, is not).
