I'm assuming you are sponsoring your spouse outland through Rome. I don't have much advice except go through the guide book for Sponsorship Outside Canada. There are specific additional documents for Albanians to complete along with the standard applications form. I sponsored my spouse from Albania but from within Canada Sponsorship. Does your spouse have a Canadian TRV? If she/he does, then she/he can come into Canada and you can apply inland. Only benefit to applying inland is that you and your spouse can be together during the entire process. However the disadvantage is that your spouse would not be able to leave Canada during the entire process. Your spouse can also apply for OWP while waiting for PR to be completed.

With the strike going on in foreign embassies nowadays, I would suspect the process will not go smoothly as planned and may be longer than expected.

My Albanian spouse's process took her 10 months to complete from application submittal to landing. We were married 3.5 years when we submitted our application. Prior to this we were living is US before we decide to move back to Canada.

If you have any questions, PM me any concerns you may have.

Thanks so much for your reply. My husband was denied a visitor visa but we weren't married at the time. Since then I've travelled to Albania twice and we got married. Now that we have our application in, we are going to try again for the visit visa since I know it will be a long process.

Thanks again :)

Hi there.

Although I do not deal personally with Rome as my wife is with Vienna (I am citizen) I can tell you for sure that Rome is simply a very fast VO when it comes to straight forward cases. Many of my Greek friends who dealt with Rome so far (I know about 8 of them) have got their COPR's in less than 7 months from the time they applied
I wish I could say the same thing for Vienna
To give you an example. Lady friend send in her apps to sponsor hubby in December 2012 and hubby got his visa August 5th 2013
I don't know if you noticed there is no actual ROME Thread here. The reason? Because it is a fast VO. It might take a little more time to process Albanian applicants due to special info they require but I am sure they will expedite you asap!

I wish you good luck.

I just got an email today. My husband has interview November 22. I'm freaking out right now. Does this mean they don't believe our marriage is genuine? How do we prepare for this?

Hi, just face them up truthfully and don't try to hide things just because you feel there's something that you shouldn't tell them because it doesn't sound proper.
Be Honest...Be your self!
Don't consider their arrogance towards you as something personal. (Maybe you will be lucky and have an officer who is polite)
Remember they are not there to discredit you but they are there to see if you are dishonest!
Have a good night's sleep the previous night, a good breakfast in the morning and go full of confidence that soon you will be in Canada!

Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

I have applied for a work permit under the SINP program.
My occupation is bricklayer and as such I applied.
but I have a concern. Sad
My company does not pay my social security (somehow work in black)

1 - could this thing hinder my application?

2-it verifies immigration insurance payment?

Please send feedback more because I am very worried

god bless you and your families you

We are November 2013, in family sponsorship class, Roma office.

Wondering as this process looks long, if a visitor visa is a good option,
But am concerned as we have been denied once, when were not married yet.
We are in a need for advice, can someone help

Does Roma office processing time takes a lot?
Until now we know our papers are there-the application status is "in process" ?
What is the next step, do they contact you, or what?
What should we do?

Appreciate any valuable inputs. :-[
