Roles and Responsibility Letter (Skill Set Letter) Problem

Hello Experts,

I am in a bind here. Request your suggestions for the same.

I have 2.7 years of total experience - 1.7 in 1st company and 1 years in my second company.

My problem is with my first company

Business Consultant is my role in official papers but I have worked in a job that is related to software engineer. So my roles and responsibility is related to a software engineer.

So when I received my Skill Set letter, they have given my Role as - 'Business Consultant'. This is NOC 1122
But the roles and responsibility that is given in the letter is the roles and responsibility of NOC 2173 which is 'Software Engineer' - because I have worked in a software engineer job

Will this be a reason for CIC to reject my application.

I cannot ask my company to change either my role or my roles and responsibility.

So Kindly advice what to do.

Thanks and Regards
Kirubakar Ezhilmani

What the role is called isn't important. NOC is related to roles and responsibilities - as long as they check out against the relevant NOC, it's good to go.

Hello Asivad,

So, you are saying is that ... as long as the NOC that I enter in my Express Entry profile .. matches with the Roles and Responsibilities in my Skill Set letter.. that's ok?

Wont they check if my organizational role (given in the letter) matches with the roles and responsibilities (given in the letter) ??

Yes

NOCs are designed NOT on job titles but on roles & responsibilities and that's precisely what CIC will check in your work experience/reference letter. CIC isn't unduly worried about why a particular organization calls a role Business Consultant while some other organization calls the same/similar role as Functional Consultant and a third organization terms it Software Consultant.
