Risk of booking flight without temporary resident visa.

I applied for TRV on 29th Oct 2014 and today is 6th working day but still CIC hasn't requested my passport.
Credit card got charged on the same day though.

I wanted to book my flight for 9th Dec 14 to India asap as the rates are increasing.

CIC web site mentions 14 days processing time excluding mailing duration.
Considering that, seems I should be getting passport with stamping latest by 19th Nov.

Has any one's TRV application took longer than 14 days?
Should I wait till they request my passport before booking my flight ticket?Any inputs appreciated...

Can I ask them to refund the money as they havent started processing and then apply from India?

The information you are looking at has not been updated since October 24th. To avoid any change fees on your ticket wait for the passport request and then book your ticket.

You can call CIC and ask for a refund in case you don't want to continue with the TRV processing.

I think its safe to book. I applied for my TRV on 2nd November (after receiving my open work permit) and i got the request today for passport stating "that they made a decision and now they need my passport to issue the visa".

I plan to travel on 18th Dec (kinda in the same boat). But I am sure, within a week or two, i should get the visa.

You can go ahead and make the reservation.

Representative on the give number mentioned they don't have access to TRV and I have no clue how to get status update on my application.
