hi 4mfamily,

from what i read on CIC website, children are exempt from paying the RPRF, so you only have to pay for yourself and your spouse.

i'll probably convince hubby to do the same and pay the RPRF fee. he insists that it needs to be requested first but from the link i gave on the other thread, it says it can be paid anytime. it's a good idea to pay since you can find out if they have cashed the check payment - meaning they are looking into our files already and it's not sitting in a corner collecting dust :)

you know, it is my method to test their response.
it seems that the answer is positive, means that my file is under processing.. you can pay first also.

check should be payable to Canadian Consulate General, then i think you mail it to the address where you sent your application. from what i read in other threads, you just write a cover letter saying that the bank draft is for the RPRF then quote your immigration file number. i think you also have to attach one of the barcodes that came with the medical request

i dont think you need to send a receipt (IMM5401), just the bank draft plus a letter saying that the BD is for RPRF for the principal applicant and spouse. their address on the website is:

Canadian Consulate General
Immigration Regional Programme Centre
3000 HSBC Center
Buffalo, New York 14203-2884 U.S.A.

you can also ask them thru email just to be sure but from what i understand, the official receipt is not needed.
