Hi all,

I'm currently a temporary resident in Canada, I have a PGWP (work permit) and I live in Vancouver. However, I returned to Brazil (my home country) for some vacations and for my brother's wedding and got stuck here due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm thinking about returning to Vancouver around the 1st week of June, but I'm not sure about the travel ban.

In my case, I have a valid work permit (since April 19) and I have an apartment rented in my name, however, I do not have any job. So I'm wondering if I could be denied to enter the country at this moment. Does anyone know the answer or had to face the same situation? Any hint?

Thank you all!

At the current time, you will be denied entry. Nobody will be able to tell you if travel restrictions will be lifted by first week of June, so I wouldn't buy any tickets just yet.

Thanks, it's very confusing and misleading some info on the IRCC website. In order for me to return I need to show that my work type is essential at this moment, correct?

If you fly in, I think you can return, but I'm not 100% sure. Let us know what happens.
