Dear all

After a year reading-exchanging a million messages, about a million subjects, time came to ask something that I had overseeing for so long :D
I am the sponsor and God's willing my spouse will soon get her visa so we can both depart for Canada.

I've been away from Canada for more than 23 years. Of course during these years I have visited there a few times.
I know for my wife (the immigrant) upon arrival she will need to bring a list of the personal items she intends to bring to Canada upon arrival or within a year.

What about the returning Canadian. Me! Could I also declare for import some of our household items with me on my arrival? Or am I not entitled to it?

Any info will be much appreciated !

Regards

As a returning resident having been away for many years, you are also allowed your list of goods brought and goods to follow. As you are arriving together, you will probably list your items as communal property anyway. It's not like you can split up assets from a marriage between mine and yours anyway, or can you?

Leon, thank you so much :)

How would they know at the border that I am a returning Canadian though! Would that be through a special declaration i should make upon my arrival at point of entry?
