Returning Canadian

Hi all

I am a Canadian citizen that will be soon returning to Canada (as soon as my wife's PR is approved)
I know that a new PR is entitled to bring personal items upon his entry or later as long as he/she has the list of these items.
What about the citizen? I have been away from Canada for 23 years and I also like to bring my own personal items. Am I entitled to do that too?
