Hi All,

My spouse application was returned today. The reason they gave us were:

1) Missing signature in form IM0008. The checklist didnot mention that IM0008 must be signed off by hand as well.
2) Missing Proof of Payment. The proof of payment was inside the package... It is not in the package we received...
3) Missing Application to change conditions. The form (5710) was also there completed and validated. There was not handwritten sign beside the regular signature.

My spouse work permit expired on January 8th.

- What should we do now?
- Can she keep working?
- In case she cannot longer work. How long she cannot work?

Thank you, any help is appreciated.

1. It is clearly stated in the guide that the form must be signed by hand.

2. You can reprint your receipt. How much did you pay?

3. IRCC does occasionally say something is missing when it isn't. Anytime you submit a paper form, you should sign it by hand.

Re-submit with signatures and forms.

No, she can't keep working. She is now out of status.

She needs to apply for Restoration. She can try to restore as a worker with the PR app. Some have had success doing that and received their work permit in the standard 4 months; others have not and have had to wait until near the end of the PR process.
