Hi, I am a new Canadian resident and landed in June this year. Due to personal circumstances I had to leave Canada before I got my PR Card.
Now I got this letter in which they ask for new photo's for the PR card and I have to bring them in person.
In this forum and on the embassy website I read that I need a travel document to enter Canada.I found the form IMM5524, but
on the form I have to declare how many days I resided in Canada and this is way less than 730 days in the last 5 years.

I have the following questions:

Is this the correct form to use and if so will they refuse my entrance because I have not spent enough days in Canada?
Is it allowed to enter Canada as a tourist again, give them the new photo's and wait for the PR card to arrive?

Thanks.

They only count back to the date you were "landed" if you were "landed" less than 3 years ago, you won't have a problem.

Return to Canada without PR Card 1

Hi
I have lived about 670 days in Canada in the last 5 years. My PR card is expired but I have to travel right now, I cant wait till its been renewed. Can I re enter Canada with my Canadian children ? do I need to apply for a travel document from the Embassy ?

If you care about your PR, do not leave Canada now and do not apply to renew your PR card until you have 730 days in Canada.

If you leave and try to come back with an expired PR card, you open yourself up to investigation. Maybe you will get away with it but if not, they can revoke your PR and deport you. If you apply for a travel document with less than 730 days in the last 5 years, they will deny. Regardless of your Canadian children, you are still a PR and you have to meet the residency requirements same as any other PR.
