Return to Canada with visa/passport valid for less than six months

I'm an international student and my passport and so my visa are expired in June. I plan to go to South America for a week in April, and was wondering if I can return to Canada with my visa/passport?

Canada doesn't have a 6 month rule. I assume that you either have a valid TRV or are from a visa exempt country. Also note if you are flying through the US, your passport must be valid for 6 months beyond the period of stay.
