Return to Canada with Citizenship card, passport expired.

Hi,

I've been working in the US for the past 2 years and forgot to renew my passport, which has expired. Can I fly back to Canada using my citizenship card ? Else, if I need to cross the border by land, can I use my citizenship card along with my expired passport to enter Canada ?
