return of passport from CPP-Ottawa

Hi guys!
I sent my application for temporary resident visa through express post and they received it last Nov.,5.My cousins application before took her just 2 weeks and that was also through mail.But in my case,i still doesn't have it and my employer feels so bad and panics cause we are scheduled to go to Miami next week.Its my first time to apply for a new TRV and i don't have any idea and my friends haven't advised me either that i need to send also an express post return address together with my application package.Have i known it,i should have sent one.I think the immigration should add this as one of the requirements on the document checklist.What do you think guys?
I just hope i'll receive my passport asap!!!I keep checking the mails everyday and its so frustrating to receive nothing….

they are quiet busy seems and passports are being delivered late. i applied on 23rd oct. and it was put in mail yesterday from CPP...you can check on cic site the processing time showing .you can email them CPP-CTP-OTTAWA-TRV-VRT@cic.gc.ca explaining your situation but i doubt that will make any difference. and in future you should always add a blank xpresspost envelope with your package while sending passport as they will always send it back in regular mail unless you provide xpresspost envelope. that way you can track it online on canadapost site

Congratulations!! I submitted my paper application on October 26 they received it on October October 29th and till now I have had no response from them. Its been 48 days, I emailed them 4 times and I keep calling the call center agents but they seems to know nothing about Ottawa office. I did put an urgency on my application on Friday 13th of December to get my passport back to me as I already cancelled my tickets that I had booked for that day (December 13). But no action has been taken by the Ottawa office yet.

I need to visit back home as soon as possible, its really very urgent I have provided them with my details too. I can't seem to find a way to contact the Ottawa office, thinking for going there in person on Wednesday 18th- but doesn't look like anyone had any success with that till now and then I think I should wait somemore what if its in mail or about to be in mail. Any suggestions will be helpful.. (regular processing time for this application is 23days- they should really take that off!!!)

I'm on the same boat. My application was received on Oct. 18 and according to the email I received from CPP ottawa last week, my application was "finalized" on December 1 and that my passport "will be returned shortly". That being said, I still have not received my passport back despite me trying to contact their call centre numerous times, emailed them even with my flight details and tracking info, and yes faxed them too but no luck! My flight's on December 19 and I cannot reschedule my flight either but I don't think they are considerate about that issue. I'm hoping they would at least send it out by today but who knows. Let me know if you get any updates for your case. I too was considering on going to Ottawa and staying there until I get my passport back. As the rightful passport holder, we have the right to ask for it back. I find it so unfair that they are not even clarifying these issues with their clients but rather giving such a vague response. What is the point of even asking their call centre agent to send out an urgent email when they dont even bother looking at it. So frustrating! Hope our passports miraculously show up!

we are in the same situation :'(, waiting for my passport and nothing yet . Sent my application October 24 they received it on the 25th . i had to cancel my appoitment to the American consulate since i was applying for transit Visa , but since i have no passport i can not make it , and now i probably have to cancel my flight back home because who knows when i will get my passport .

I received an email from CIC today saying that "my application is being transferred to New York but they are sending my passport back to me with an explanation letter- shortly". I do not know what to make of this email, I am so frustrated and feel like I am being mentally tortured by CIC right now.
P.S. I called the call centre and the Ottawa office does not have public access.
Goodluck to you buddy, I did already cancel my flight once I hope you get your passport on time.
