Return of FSW documents

I had sent all documents and had also paid the fees required online through my credit card as part of the process for applying under the FSW category. My application reached around mid August. Since I did not receive any revert until December end (8-10 weeks had lapsed), I wrote to CIC. I received a response yesterday morning stating that they had returned all my documents by normal post on November 27th, as the cap in that particular category (Financial Analyst) had reached by then. There is no tracking no. available and they have stated that they would assume no responsibility for the return of documents. The mail is silent about the receipt of payment. Since the package contains my original IELTS & WES certificates, how will I recover them? Further, how can I recover the payment as the same was already made online before despatch of documents and the receipt of the same is available. Can CIC simply neglect their responsibility with respect to handling original documents of an aspiring immigrant? It would help if you could throw some light on this?

You are not the only person who has reported that their application package has failed to arrive after being returned. If it has been "lost in the post", there is very little that you can do. Where was it being returned from and where should it have arrived?

It was returned by CIC and should arrive in Chennai, India. The saddest thing is that CIC does not want to claim any responsibility for the same. The original documents - WES, IELTS and police verification certificate have been lost in transit. Also, no idea about how they will be refunding the money paid. Can you throw some light pls?

Check your credit card to see if has been debited and/or credited back
