Hi Guys,
Just need your advice. I am about to submit my citizenship application and I disclosed that I have resumed using my maiden name due to legal separation from my husband.
I assumed my ex-husband's (technically still a spouse as no divorce proceeding yet) last name when we got married in the Philippines. My passport and PR cards are in my married name.
As soon as we got legally separated, the province allowed me to resume my maiden name so my current, valid IDs (DL and Health card) are in my maiden name. All I had to do was provide a copy of our legal separation.
In the citizenship application form, i am applying under my married name, but I will be attaching a cover letter explaining why my current IDs are under my maiden name. I will also attach a copy of my Phils birth certificate, marriage certificate and separation agreement. OR should I just not mention anything about my resuming of my maiden name?
Anyone else who have undergone the same situation? Will appreciate your insights.
Thanks!
