I am currently in Canada on a Open Work Permit with International Experience Canada. As you all know with the Open Work Permit there are restrictions of where you are able to work which include the following sex trade, education or childcare, and health service field occupations.

I have recently been offered a job at a Security Services Organization which works at Hospitals, Malls, and also Campus Universities. Before I take the job I want to know if I was to be placed at the Hospital or a Long Term Care Facility as a Security Officer whom I would not be providing care or first aid or any health services to patients would the Security be classed as a Health Service Field Occupation or would it be a separate occupation all together where it is the Security/Law Enforcement Industry.

If someone could let me know that would be much appreciated, the way I was thinking about it is if I was working housekeeping or as a food service attendant in a restaurant at the hospital that would not be classed as a Health Service Field Occupation so neither would Security work as I am not directly providing care to patients and I am not working for the Health Care Provider? I have a feeling Health Service Field means something along the lines of Doctor, Nurse, Psychiatrist, or Personal Care Attendant and not jobs which are with separate organizations or industries that just work at that site location.

You are fine - you are working in security, not healthcare.
