If you sent your work permit application before your status expired, then you are on implied status until you receive a response from CPC V.

hi thanks for replying! actually the agent that our company hired to process our papers did not apply our extension of work permit, and so we stop working as soon as our work permit expires last Dec.18,2010..now we receive our new Lmo last Jan.18 and we submit our work permit right away, now we are waiting for approval of our new work pemit, what bothers me now is what happen if our 90days restoration ends and the new work permit dont come yet, what would be our status by that time then? are we still legal to stay here in canada?

Did you submit an application for restoration with the WP app?

They will respond within the time stated on the CIC website. Adopt a wait and see attitude now.

The 90 day restoration period is the amount of time you have to APPLY for it once you've let your original status expire. Since you've applied for Restoration and a new WP within those 90 days, you've complied with this requirement and don't need to worry about it again. Now you must wait for a decision on the application.

Hi Everyone

My situation is a little bit different but similarities exsit. My work mit expired this month. Before it expired however my employer had said they would renew my contract and so I signed a new contract but the LMO was denied because of some inconsistencies. My question is is can I apply for a study permit as I have been accepted in school and based on the requirements I can apply. Please give me your feedback.

Thanks

Yes but you would need to apply for restoration and a change of conditions from worker to student.
