My PGWP expired on July 16, 2011, and my implied status was valid until September 23,2011. Also on September 1,2011, Visa office where my CEC application processed at sent me document request letter asking for proof of valid status in Canada. They also stated that they will close my file if I don't send in any updated information in 60 days. However, at September 1, I did not know that my work permit would get refused. Now I do not have legal status in Canada, and it seems my only option now is to apply restoration of status as a visitor. I am just wondering, if my status is considered to be legal as soon as I submit the application of restoration of status to visitor. Even without the result of the application.
Or do I have any other option other than restoring to a visitor?
