Resident of Canada or "out of status"?

In the Generic Application Form For Canada (Spousal Sponsorship), I am wondering what to fill in for the "Current country of residence" section. In another area, I have filled out "Canada" as the place where my husband (Principal Applicant) is residing because he is currently staying here with me on implied status (while waiting for visitor extension). He is from the USA but I believe that I should put Canada as the place where he is a residence because he is here right now? And for status, what should I put? Implied status? Or should I just fill out "other" and type in "Out of status: requires restoration"? I am getting very confused with this.

Yes you would put Canada.

He isn't out of status. He has implied status. As long as he applied for the extension before his visitor status expired?

Put visitor and for the dates put the start of his visitor permit/visa and then the date it expired. Then put an additional sheet behind that page of the form explaining that he is awaiting his visitor extension result, therefore has implied status. I would also put in the confirmation of applying/transaction receipt for that visitor extension, with the explanation.
