Minors are exempt from the residency qualification requirement. So residency calculator is not needed.

Thanks Screech.

Also, interestingly minor's application also does not have their education history (while the adult's application has their child's education history)!

To be honest, I have no words to say about the child education history requirement. It is strange to say the least. But since education history is used as evidence of residency in Canada, it is not needed for the child due to exempt from residency qualification.

If the child is applying with the parents' citizenship, the child still have to wait until the parents meets the residency requirement. Once the parents qualify for citizenship after 3 years the child has already waited 3 years.

interesting 2nd point you mentioned - in my case its the other way around - I will be eligible soon; but my child has not completed 3 years yet (2 months short). Wonder, if that could be an issue, if I include my child with my application?

Appreciate your thoughts!

If your spouse is Canadian and cannot pass on citizenship to your child, then the child can apply for citizenship without residency requirement. Can even apply for citizenship by his/herself. If your child is not your spouse's biological child (step child), the child would need to be attached to your citizenship application. The child cannot become Canadian before the child's biological parents become Canadian. Thus it is required that the child's application be submitted with the parent's citizenship application.
