I am applying for citizenship having accumulated more than 1095 days between July 2014 and Sept 2018. But within my eligibility period I stayed outside canada for 183 days that was from Oct 2014 to May 2015 for family problems and my parent health crisis. My permanent Residence wife was in Canada.

Please do I need to complete this form as part A and B do not apply to me because my wife did not accompany me and I wasn't working in the force and I am not claiming eligibility for this period.

The best approach to making a citizenship application is to follow the instructions and answer all questions truthfully, as best you can understand the questions and how they apply to you.

If your answers in the application trigger an instruction to submit the CIT 0177 but no part of that form applies to you, entering N/A in key boxes is appropriate.

Some forum participants suggest checking "no" in response to the item that triggers the instruction to submit CIT 0177 (this is item 9.c. in the 10-2017 version of the application CIT 0002) even though they have in fact lived outside Canada during the eligibility period. Almost all indications suggest this is OK . . . and assuming the applicant has truthfully disclosed ALL address history for the eligibility period, and thus has disclosed actually living abroad for part of the eligibility period, this should not constitute any deliberate misrepresentation.

Personally (noting I am NOT an expert), the first principle governing how to make out an application suggests otherwise, that is, to follow the principle that the best approach to making a citizenship application is to follow the instructions and answer all questions truthfully, as best you can understand the questions and how they apply to you. And when the instructions say to include a form, to include it, even if doing so involves entering Not Applicable to virtually the entire form.
