hi

I have problem with residence calculator.
After I enter the dates:
my basic residence days is 1166
days absent is 96.5
physical presence days is 1070

but the calculator show that I am eligible to apply for citizenship on November 22, 2014.
I only need another 25 days to 1095 days. So I can apply on October 26, 2014.

guys do you know why the calculator shows November 22?

You are likely losing front loaded physical presence days as the 4 year window moves forward. Seems to indicate you were here for say a month at the start of the 4 year window then out of Canada so losing the 'presence' days with no immediate make up of 'new' days especially if your absence was significant.

Msafiri is likely correct about your case. I had the same "issue".

After playing with the calculator many times, I'm 100% confident that it is accurate. Every time I thought the calculator was "off",it turned out that my calculations were the ones that was "off" and the calculator was right every time.

What Msafiri said is true, i.e you have a vacation/travel out of Canada in the beginning of your four year period.
In other words; when you move your finishing point 25 days ahead from today to complete 1095 days; the starting point moves along with it to fall in an absent/vacation period, so the calculator adjust it further ahead.

It's interesting to view this scenario - 4 year period is composed of like this - 1094 days of physical stay followed by 366 days of absence then person comes back to Canada.

Here he/she needs to stay for 3 more years to catch up 1 day to translate to eligibility (1094 >> 1095) - because each day he adds, he looses 1 day, until he hits and gets past his 1st day of absence.
