Hi,
I am posting this to let others know of possible outcomes and hopefully other can learn from my mistakes.
I am not giving up not yet, but will be on third time luck with resend letter!
My original application was in Nov 09, I applied after gettting a job offer and the company applied for LMO at the same time.
At this time I should have asked for the company to provide an AEO (lesson 1. however I understand there are different ways around this)
I received the LMO and sent a cover note and copy of my original application to Sydney
I was hoping they would link it to my file, but this did not happen.
Lesson two - send all documents at the same time, if you need to wait for additional information wait and send a fully completed application.
I received a resend letter, all documents and Cheque, dated the same date as I sent out my LMO.
The appendix asked to submit the LMO (not the AEO!) and noted I had not ticked the Yes/No box indicating if I had the LMO
I sent the requested docs and application with their resend letter, received at CIO 21st Jan.
At the same time I sent TWP to London - for which I had medicals two weeks ago.
Today I received two packages! both from Sydney.
One is following my attempt to get my LMO to them prior to a resend letter, claiming obviously no payment included. (note lesson 2)
The second letter is my original or the resend.
this one claims that I needed to send a photocopy of my work visa or AEO which is not the same as the LMO
(lesson 3, I did beleive that my contact/offer of emplyment and LMO equated to an AEO, I hve read up on this today)
So a few things I take for this experiance,
if you can not get the company to apply for AEO apply for TWP first, then apply for PR on arrival, this is my personal goal now.
I also wonder if including the resend letter has speeded up my process as I was not expecting a reply till mid March.
It seems to me that the officer looks through the forms and on finding an error or missed information they send resend letter without assessing further.
Each of the responses had been checked only to the point in which the resend letter refers to, i.e. the second one noting I had not included payment.
wishing you all the best
