Requirement to file tax

Hi,

I became PR is Dec, 2018. I did soft landing, left for UK and I came back in 2020. Am I required to file taxes for 2018 and 2019? I did file from 2020 but I am confused about 2018 and 2019 as I didn't even stay a single day for the whole year.

It would depend if you had any ties to Canada in 2018 or 2019.
