Hey guys, I want to apply for UP but I am not sure if my reason would be considered for UP. I am an international student outside of Canada with a passport that expires in July 2022. My sister has just done her Oath and since we applied at the same time I am assuming they will assign me a date for my ceremony soon. The issue is that I won't be able to go to Canada if they scheduled me during the time I am in school since I am an international student and I am required to go to class during the whole semester. So I could try to find some time in between my school semesters to go to Canada and do my oat but I don't know how that would work. My other problem is that my passport will be expiring soon and honestly, I don't want to renew my home passport if I am going to get my Canadian citizenship. I will be going home ( Canada) for the Christmas break and I was thinking I could request to have my application completed by then so I can do my oath and go back to school. What do you guys think? Should I apply to UP or not? Also, does anybody have a similar situation? I was reading on the CIC website and it says that if the request is not considered to be UP the application may take longer than normal, so that means that If I apply and it is not considered UP they are going to take longer to process my application??? This is so unfair...

You reason is very weak. Also, they don't assign oath dates by request. Finally, your UP request, if denied, should not affect your file's processing time directly. Where did you read this "the CIC website and it says that if the request is not considered to be UP the application may take longer than normal"?
