I obtained my Canadian citizenship and I'm studying in Canada, now. I would like to request my SIN number. Do I need my certificate of citizenship or I can use my Canadian passport as proof ?
Please help asap......
You need to call Service Ontario or whatever whichever Provence your located and they will tell you. Or visit one of their offices.marilugia said:NOBODY CAN HELP ME ???? PLEASE ....... :'(
You need your certificate of citizenship. As I was told at a Service Canada office, a passport is a travel document, not proof of citizenship!marilugia said:Hi everybody

How can you be a canadian citizen without a SIN number?marilugia said:Hi everybody

It would be unusual to be a Canadian citizen living in Canada and not have a SIN, though, I suppose if one never worked and never filed a tax return, there wouldn't be an absolute need for one. Canadian citizens by descent (most of whom don't even live in Canada) would likely not have SINs either.era1521 said:How can you be a canadian citizen without a SIN number?
I guess technically. Though you can't have a valid Canadian passport without being a citizen. In most cases a passport is accepted as proof of citizenship (OHIP does).alphazip said:You need your certificate of citizenship.
