Hi guys,
This question is on behalf of my friend who also applied for citizenship about a month before me. He did not receive his test invite yet and his file has not been transferred. He is moving becasue of work to a very small town in Northern Canada.
From this town to Yellowknife it would cost him about $1,500 - $2,000 to take a flight and stay in a hotel to come back and write an exam. Since its the same Territory my guess is that his exam will be sent to Yellowknife becasue it is the only office in Northwest Territories where you can do the test and oath. So all in all for two trips for test and oath he will probably shell out around $4,000.
Now the alternative is to write the test in Whitehorse which is in another territory and will cost around $2,000 for hotels and travel for two trips (still very expensive).
Since Whitehorse is the better option to travel for him. Question is: If it is possible to request that the file be transferred to another province/territory to save money.
