Hello Senior members,

Can anybody help with a couple of questions.

1- If your VO has requested medical extension for an expired medical, approximately how long from request to decision?

2- Is London the main centre where all medicals (all visa offices) that are requested for extension, processed? or are there are other head medical centres?

Hey there! :)

It would seem that there is contradictory opinions about London processing the medicals or not - see here - it's the thread for extensions, so you might get a better sense of how long it will take for you. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/medical-exam-validity-extension-for-additional-12-months-new-cic-bulletin-t106229.165.html
Good luck!

Hey Sweden, ;-)

Good to see you almost have your hands on your COPR, so happy for you and couldn't have happened to a nicer person.

Yeah I kinda knew this but was really hoping somebody knew definitively that London was the place where all the medical extension requests went too. Obviously my reasoning is that since my file is already being processed there the wait should not be as significant since they don't have to liaise with another VO.

But ty for that link and I am still as confused as I was before lol.

:D

It's CIC after all - the information we have is everything and its contrary, so it makes it difficult to know how it works...
Hope you get information soon!
Fingers crossed,
Sweden

What I know is that there are tow medicals processing centres in the world: London and Ottawa. The latter is for Americas. Usually PPs know where to send your medicals, so you should not worry about that. You should not worry also because when you get the request for redo/extension of medicals, your VO will indicate the address where it should be sent.

+1

Thanks Godzilla. That makes it clearer and is a lot more definitive on how the extension process works and what VO's take care of the extension

Is London's timeline for granting medical extensions still 6-8 weeks? Our VO just requested an extension for our file. Might be wishful thinking, but I was hoping someone here would tell us about a faster timeline :)
