Request help with the status update

Hi All,

My CRS score is 475. I received ITA on Dec 6, 2017. I submitted my complete EE PR application on Feb 9,2018 (medical, PCC, reference letters etc..)
I received an update on 19 Feb, 2018, stating I have cleared my medicals. My background check status since then has been "In Progress". Its almost 2 months in this status and I am getting a bit anxious here thinking is it normal?

Anyone faced a similar issue? How much more time would it take for me to receive any update?

I understand that the max time for an application is 6 months, but I also read that once the medicals are cleared, it moves faster. This is making me more confused.

Any help here is appreciated..

It is difficult to say, as every application is unique, so don't spend your energy trying to find a definite answer. Passing the medicals is the first movement, but it is not in any way a sign of fast resolution. Reading these forums will only provide you with other applicants' experiences which are unique to them, and have no bearing on your case, so there is no point in drawing conclusions from them.
The 6 months processing time is a guideline by CIC, not the maximum time it takes to process an application. CIC aims to process 80% of the applications within 6 months, but as you can also see from the posts on this forum, some people have been waiting for a year, or even more.
Unfortunately, nobody will be able to tell you how long you'll be waiting, but I hope you (and everyone waiting) receive some positive news soon.
