Request for Info - Open work permit

Hello All,

I have applied for PR and waiting for request for Medical test. As per the rules, I can apply for open work permit. I would like to seek some guidance based on the following:-

My work permit expires in Aug 15.
How long it takes for the processing of open work permit?
My family is on dependent visa so what needs to be done for them, if I apply for work permit.

Apply for BOWP as per current timeline online application are taking 64 days. go to www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
and create your id by clicking on "continue to gc key" answer the questions and you will get to know what forms need to be filed. you can include your family as well with your application.

This time has increased and at present no one knows for certainty hw long it will take, could be more than 100 days
