I have an application in process for CEC inland PR. I passed my medicals on Jan 25th and got AOR on Jan 9th.

However, I just got a request for Criminal Record Check based on fingerprints, and I am confused. Is this a bad thing?

What is the criteria for the request? I saw that they ask you for this when a name-based check comes up as "incomplete". What does "incomplete" mean?

I have lived and worked in Canada for 5 years and 5 months. I don't have a criminal record here, or from back home in UK. In fact, I have never even spoken to a police officer here.

Do they just specifically run your fingerprint against others in the database?

No, it is a very normal and common request for CEC applicants. Just submit the required document and don't worry. Good Luck!
