Hi,

Today I received a letter (dated June 13, 2018) from IRCC, to have my fingerprints taken for my citizenship application. The letter also states that fingerprints must be taken within 30 days from the date of the letter or otherwise my application can be treated as abandoned. However, the letter was delivered to my address in mail today (August 7, 2018). I contacted my local post office but they were unable to tell me the reasons for this delay. They asked me to call their call centre and after holding for about 45 minutes I gave up as no one answered. I sent a case specific enquiry to IRCC via a web request explaining this matter. I am also planning to call their call centre tomorrow. However, I am quiet worried about not being able to provide the fingerprints within the 30 days deadline even though it is not my fault. I was wondering if anyone else had faced a similar situation in dealing with IRCC regarding their citizenship application, and what is best course of action in this situation?

Thanks in advance.

Same here but not Canada post fault neither your case. All you need to do is call the number in your letter they will give instruction what to do.Besides if you go right away to do fp if no problem RCMP sends it back in 3 days.
But still phone to get the instruction so you don’t worry that you failed to accomplish the timeline they requested.
