I am bit confused on this , last week i received email from CIC LA asking me to send additional documents .

"Personal written statement and documentary evidence showing total income for 2009 - 2010 " does this mean that they want me to send my earning for 2009 or for both 2009 and 2010 . Can i email them the documents or Mail by regular post ..

Many thanks

I thought they would only need your T4 and employment letter and that T4 TAX RECEIPT should explain all your earnings, i dont understand why they would ask.. did you attach your T4 tax receipts with your application when you applied in the first place. if not then thats wht is it and if you did than you might wanna ask someone expert or probably an accountant to prepare those documents for you so you can send them... technocally if they say 2009-2010 that would mean sep 09- aug-10. I f i were you i would always provide with additional info rather than less i-e 2009 and 2010 financial report but you might wanna consult with an accountant or someone and let me know how does it go for you... it'll be nice to know and good luck!

2009-2010 simply means 2009 and 2010. Personal income tax is by calendar year; there's no reason that CIC would want a September-August "fiscal year".

To pdornala: I don't know why they're looking into your income, but the documents I would send are:

- letter describing all income for 2009
- copy of 2009 tax return
- copy of 2009 Notice of Assessment
- letter describing all income for 2010
- copy of 2010 tax return
- copy of 2010 Notice of Assessment
- copies of pay stubs for 2009 and 2010, if you still have them

The tax returns should include copies of all relevant documents (T4s, etc.).

You should probably talk to the accountant in your firm, since you are employed there he can easily print out a sheet for you explaining all yoru earnings and benefits and stuff. And if possible you should add your paystubs and then make a cover letter expalining you job position and clarification of all the requested documents you are submitting to clear any confusion & i beleive you are gonna have to mail it & not my e-mail. I think it should probably say on the letter you got form them that how you can provide those documents. If it includes option e-mail than yes you can sace yourself some time and money.
