I recently sent off an application to update some information on my Canadian Citizenship (specifically a change of name), but just found out that Canada Post lost it and it was never received at all. Since I sent off my original citizenship certificate in the process to update it and get a new updated certificate, I now don't have one at all to send to the IRCC to try again. Technically I would have to mail in an application again to get my original (unupdated) citizenship back, and then resubmit once I had that to update my name. I'm on a little bit of a time crunch as my name has been changed provincially but not federally, so I feel like it's only a matter of time before some problem arises because of that.
So, has anyone here ever replaced and updated a citizenship (or any other relevant application) at the same time instead of submitting them one at a time? Would I have to submit two Proof of Citizenship applications (one for the lost Citizenship and another for the updated citizenship once I've obtained the first one), or would there be any way I could submit one form and replace and update it at the same time?
Any tips? Any advice or anything would be absolutely wonderful and extremely appreciated.
