Rentals in Vancouver- Inputs Required. Travel will be required to downtown daily

Hi,

I am planning to reach Vancouver in August 2013. I am looking out for a 1 BHK apartment for me and my spouse. My budget is a maximum of $ 950.

Can you please give me inputs on where I can find decent apartments that are close to the skytrain. Is burnaby and surrey a good option? Since I will not have a car initially, would it be easy to get around for grocery, fitness center etc.?

Guess you have to look at rentals on major bus routes and skytrain stations.

Along with burnaby and surrey, you can also consider richmond. Especially in Richmond, many eateries open late night or 24 hours. There is a also public market near Richmond Centre skytrain station where you can pick up fresh produce. There are an abundant of grocery stores nearby.

ive been searching for a place to stay in vancouver preferably close to downtown and it's a bit hard since the prices are really high.
