My mom submitted her PGP 2015 application this year and was received by CIC on the 2nd of Jan. 2015 via a Lawyer firm. Meanwhile while patiently waiting to hear about this application and not hearing anything from CIC hoping to receive the AOR, her visitor record was going to expiry on 8-Aug-15. She then submitted online for an extension to stay in Canada and was accepted on e-Cas on 31-Jul-15 (10 days before the expiry date).
To this date (2 months in) we haven't heard anything on the extension status. Called the call centre and they said there are just processing the May 2015 applications, so told us to wait for another 2 months (Nov. 2015).
My questions:
1) Do you think she will get rejected since she submitted the extension for VR in the last 10 days of the expiry date?.
2) If she got rejected, is there a way to re-apply for extension inland without having to go back to home country since there is no one that could look after her (75 yo) back home?. An option to apply for super-visa from home Country can be a lengthy & complicated process since she is widowed and unable to look after herself. Both of her children are PR in Canada.
We are hoping for the best and she'll get the extension to stay for at least another 6 months.
