Renewing TRV online... What should I do?

Hello everyone,

I've just started filling up my application for a TRV extension online. I currently have a valid work permit expiring Dec 2014. However, TRV expiring end of August 2013. Need to renew in case I need to travel outside Canada for work etc.

I have all the documents ready. I'm kind of confused as how to send my passport online? Since I'm used to applying the traditional way (paper application). Do I send a copy of my passport and then send the physical copy after I got an answer?

Please help..

Did you go thru the checklist? do they even ask for your original passport?

For an online TRV application online, CIC asks for the passport at a later date if needed.
