Renewed PR Card Delivery

Dear All,

Do you know if in Ottawa/Ontario a Renewed PR Card is being delivered by Mail or we have to personally go to pick it up?

I have some friends who received it by Mail in Montreal.

After 11 months processing, If it is ready printed since several weeks with no correspondence, does this mean that they will send it by Mail? I don't understand why they are keeping it (what they are waiting for!).

Do you know, if in the new immigration rules, something has changed in this regard?

The answer is both. Typically they mail the card but sometimes they will ask you to pick it up in person.

They make you pick it up if they want to interview you. If your PR renewal processing has taken so long, I assume it will not be mailed out. Your application has probably been sent to your local office for further review.

I'm in Montreal and the local office received my card at the end of March. It's been 2 months and thy are still not inviting me to come pick it up...

Local offices sometimes have a large case load so you will have to wait until they have time for you.

hey Leon,

My renewal application was received sept 2014 and started processing Jan 2015. Until now I received no PR card. And I checked the status online and it says "we are not able to identify..." but before it showed me the status "in process". Do you have an idea what this means? Is this normal?
