Renewal Visitor Visa while on Visitor Record

My mother entered Canada in June 2022 and obtained a Visitor record until Dec 2023 before 6 months of her entry into Canada. Her visa is expiring in July 2023. How can I apply for a visitor visa? What are forms is that 5708e?

I tried filling in the information but it is giving me the same form that I filled out for visitor record.

She doesn’t need a new visa until she leaves Canada. Technically you can try to extend her stay again right before December 2023 if she is wanting to visit longer. Whether she gets approved is another story especially given she would have already visited Canada for 1.5 years at that point.

She will be going back in September, 2023 and was trying to apply as she was planning to come back in April 2024. So can I do that from inside Canada or it can be done only when she is back in her home.
