Hi!

I submitted my LMO together with other documents online. My current
Employer renewed my contract. My work permit is now expired and I haven't recieved my new work permit yet. Now, I realized that my last name was incorrectly spelled so my employer requested to correct my last name.

Question is : what is my status? would the incorrect spelling of my last name be a problem? Even if its a renewal under a the same company?

I am still working on the same company. My employer says its okay to come to work.

Please help! Anyone knowledgeable about my situation! Thank you in advance! :)

If you applied to renew your work permit before your old work permit expired, then you are on implied status (and can keep working) until you have a decision from CIC.

Thank you!

Follow up question please, now that I'm on an "implied status" the company I am working for is slowing down this winter and going to work would be 3 days a week. My employer is very open minded to allow us to look for another job (even if they renewed us).

I found a new job with an open LMO. Can I apply that LMO? if so, what will happen and what application should I submit?

What's the best thing to do please? Thank you!
