Renewal of PR Cards - outside canada

Dear All

I made a short landing in January 2016 and came back to complete my contract and project.

What is the minimum residency requirements for renewal of the PR cards for me and my family. ( 2+2). We all have PR cards valid until Feb 2021.

Additionally we have a new born kid (born outside canada). I have to take Family class sponsorship for this as well.

Experts please advise.

In order to keep you PR you must spend a minimum of 2 years in the next 5 years from Jan 2016 in Canada else risk being reported for failing to meet residency and lose PR. So as you say you short landed Jan 2016 so you must be back in Canada latest Dec 2018 and then stay 2 years without leaving.

Others can correct me but to sponsor under family class as a PR you need to be resident in the country.
