Hey guys

I have to renew my passport before Dec, 2015. It's not expiring till 2017 but have been told to renew from my home country. So I got my AOR earlier this month and I'm still waiting for MR. I applied under AINP.

What documents do I have to send to CIC to let them know about this change? I tried to search in CIC homepage, but couldn't find them. I have to inform AINP too, about my new passport and I have that form.

If anyone could please help, I'd really appreciate that.

Regards and best wishes to all.

If you have received an AoR from CIO, wait until you have confirmed where is your processing/visa office. Once you have that, then send a letter to the processing office/visa office informing them of the change in PP. Always put your UCI and File/Application number in any correspondence, so that they (VO/processing office) can identify your file immediately. Attach scanned copies of your new passport (the ID pages) as well as the ID pages of the old PP for reference.

All updates to your application should be sent to your processing office/visa office. Change in PP is an update to your application.

Thanks buddy.

Guys, do updates like this increase your application processing time?

In my experience, no. Experiences vary with different applicants.

A lot of factors come into play with respect to application processing time. Some VOs respond faster, and do process faster, some others do not respond to email communications (even if there is a legitimate issue, clarification etc.) and take a longer time to process applications.
