Renewal of Passport after Citizenship application

Hello friends,

I have a query here. Please help. Is it ok to renew my child's passport as it is expiring this month. We have already applied for citizenship in Sep, 2014 and the file is at the local office at Scarborough from 9 feb, 2014. Please guide. And if I do renew, do I have to send the update?

It is OK to renew. No you don't have to send the update.

When you go for interview, the CIC officer may ask to see all the Passports including that of your child. Their main objective is to match the bio-graphical pages. Also they may want to see whether there was any additional travel and/or match entry/exit etc.

Travel after applying isn't forbidden, however their is a chance of scrutiny during the interview.
