My husband just received his confirmation of permanent residency letter. We've both been living in Canada for almost a year now. We're planning on driving down to the border the weekend of October 4th, and re-entering in order to validate his COPR. However, his visitor visa expires at the end of October. We don't see any reason why he won't be granted PR status when we re-enter Canada. But just in case anything does go wrong, is it possible for him to renew his visitor visa while we're at the border in person anyway? I can't find anywhere on the CIC website where it says you can renew a visitor visa at a port of entry.

That is because you can't.

Anyway you don't need to renew your TRV because you already have a valid Visa (immigration visa sticker 'category immigrant' on your passport). :)
