Hello, all! I want to ask some questions. My husband is PR and we applied for Spousal Sponsorship inland + OWP. My status is expired since May 31, 2020 and I’m just on implied status right now. We applied March 2020 and still haven’t heard anything about AOR.
My passport and TRV will expire on March 2021, which is soon. I’m planning to renew my passport this September.
If I renew my passport, do I need to renew my TRV too? Or should I just wait for my OWP? And since OWP will just be issued until March 2021 also (because passport expiry), I will just extend the OWP by then and be on implied status as a worker, right?

I’m so worried and confused. Please help me. :( Thank you!

A TRV is a travel document that tells airlines it's OK to let you get on a plane. If you're not planning to leave Canada and come back after March 2021 you don't need a TRV.

So it’s ok if I don’t have a TRV since I might have an OWP by that time?

If you want to travel to Canada from outside Canada, you need a valid TRV. It is a travel document. It has nothing to do with whether you have an OWP or not. If you have an OWP, and you leave Canada, you will still need a TRV to return. If you don't have a TRV and you stay in Canada, you don't need a TRV.
TRV=travel to Canada (whether you have status in Canada or not)
OWP=staying in Canada

Okay. Because I thought TRV is my visa and I need to have a valid trv while I’m staying here for me to extend my stays. What if I need to restore my status here in Canada, do I need to have a valid TRV or I can restore status without it?
